WHAT TO EXPECT
Visiting a church for the first time can be awkward and scary.
We understand and we want you to know a few things about us.
FIRST
None of us have it all together, but we do know that God specializes in helping broken people.
When we look in the mirror of God’s Word, we quickly realize that all of us are deeply flawed, and that we all have the same problem…Sin. This forces us to remember that our only hope is in Jesus. Our heart is to compare our own individual selves to Him and then help each other become more like Him.
SECOND

Our desire is to imitate our Savior and to give of ourselves and serve others just like He did. We will take an offering but it is called a “free will” offering. You are not obligated to give.
THIRD
Worship is not about us.
We will always focus our singing, our giving, and our worship toward the Lord Jesus. You will find songs that we can sing together with energy and passion. There will be old familiar hymns, and more modern hymns set to music that directs our attention to Christ and not man.
FOURTH
Our pastor’s desire is to communicate God's Word carefully and in a way that you can understand. The Bible has been given for our instruction about everything that matters in life and after death.

Pastor Derrick Suttles
Head Pastor
Derrick Suttles is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Pastor Suttles and his family began their ministry at Calvary in July of 2019 and are excited to see what the Lord will do as they partner with this church family to serve together.
Pastor Derrick and his wife Katie met while attending Bible College at Ambassador Baptist College in North Carolina. They were married July 23, 2004 and have been serving together in ministry ever since. The Lord blessed them with four wonderful children, Emily, Bethany, Jackson, and Bradley. Previously, Derrick & Katie served in youth ministry for 13 years, and as an assistant pastor for 2 years in Huntsville, Alabama. The Lord has burdened them to love and reach the next generation with the Gospel.
Pastor Derrick and Katie graduated from Ambassador Baptist College in 2004. Pastor Derrick majored in Pastoral Studies and Katie majored in Elementary Education. In 2015, Pastor Derrick earned his Masters Degree in Biblical Studies from Maranatha Baptist Seminary.
Pastor Derrick and Katie enjoy spending time together and with their kids. They enjoy watching the North Carolina Tarheels play basketball and the Alabama Crimson Tide play football. They are their kids biggest cheerleaders and enjoy being an active part of their lives. They enjoy playing sports and going for long walks.
